The Social Service Department (SSD) of Global Missional Church Canada (GMCC) is dedicated to enriching the lives of parents, children, and youth in the Greater Vancouver area. With a focus on Chinese families, international students, new immigrants, and local residents, SSD addresses community needs through a wide range of programs and services.

Community Engagement: Facilitating connections through peer support services in Cantonese and Mandarin, fostering cultural understanding, and strengthening community ties.

Family Support: Hosting parenting workshops and programs that address cultural adaptation, family stress, and effective communication to empower families and nurture safe, child-friendly environments.

Youth and Children’s Programs: Offering activities that enhance language development, social-emotional skills, and community involvement through interactive and engaging tools.

Employment Services: Providing job search seminars, interview preparation sessions, and resume-building workshops to help new immigrants navigate and integrate into the local job market.

Settlement Services: Organizing settlement talks to guide newcomers in understanding Canadian systems, culture, and resources.

Self-Care Programs: Promoting physical and emotional wellness through self-compassion and social interaction activities, encouraging a balanced and healthy lifestyle for community members.
